You can also see Monsal Avenue running away from Shirley Avenue. In the far background you can just see Littleton Road playing fields. A very clear and crisp picture of the front of the shops taken in 1964. You can even see the meat hanging in the butchers shops. I remember those bins so well. You will note that the phone boxes have not yet been built! Roll your mouse over the image for the same spot 45 years later in 2009.
